By removing the main cause of a disease, which is often on an energy level, acupuncture can be more effective than medications. 

The acupuncture approach is holistic. It elevates all of a patients' health levels, not just the main problem that the patient needs solved. For example, illnesses such as diabetes, lower back pain, headaches and asthma could all be considered as unrelated problems in Western medicine and patients would receive different types of treatment for each illness. Acupuncture, on the other hand, can work on all of these illnesses at the same time through carefully planned treatment. 

Acupuncture is an 'ecologically clean' method of treatment. It does not input any chemicals into our body systems. It is therefore preferable for people who have allergies, who do not have strong kidneys or livers to metabolise the drugs, or those who are aware of the need to reduce drugs as much as possible.
